Renovation of petkovškovo nabrežje

On 11 March 2013, the City of Ljubljana began the renovation of one of the most beautiful of the embankments of the Ljubljanica, Petkovškovo nabrežje (the 'Petkovšek Embankment').

It is a comprehensive renovation, with new ground surfacing, street furniture and trees. Viewing platforms are to be built in two places on the embankment, and new greenery is foreseen on the riverbank. It is anticipated that the renovation will take two months, when the major building work is to be carried out, and a further four months when tasks such as the ground surface will be put in place. There are unforeseen events (the weather and ground conditions etc) that could have a negative impact on this schedule.

The area will remain accessible to pedestrians throughout the works. The cafes and restaurants will remain open, although at the times when the renovations are ongoing in their areas they will not be able to have outdoor seating. These external spaces will reopen as soon as the work permits.
The contractor for the work is KPL, d.d., with the outline cost estimated to be €2m.

All Bicike(LJ) system users are advised that due to the renovation of Petkovškovo nabrežje, the Bicike(LJ) system point no. 1 Prešernov trg-Petkovškovo nabrežje will be closed temporarily. This is expected to be for a month.
