Renovation of the zalog centre
On 10 April 2014, Spar Slovenija and the City of Ljubljana signed the public-private partnership to renovate the facility in Zalog. The renovation represents an important development potential that will also introduce new activities to this eastern part of Ljubljana by 2015.
The partnership project cost is estimated at 7.5 million EUR divided between SPAR Slovenija (4.5 million EUR) and the City of Ljubljana (3 million EUR).
On the area of 5.866 square metres, the new centre in Zalog will offer various service activities, while the accessibility will be provided with 115 parking places.
The 1.145 square metres are reserved for the new SPAR supermarket. As all SPAR stores, it will offer its customers a variety of foods of the established brands and a wide selection of fresh products. Thus, the customers could always choose from a fresh and varied offer of fruits and vegetables, meat products, cheeses and other culinary specialities. The bakery offer freshly baked bread and various small cakes.
The new centre in Zalog will also provide facilities for the local district community, its societies and members, public library, multi-purpose hall, small gym, music school and day centre for the elderly. This facility that will become an important centre in the Polje District also pursues the main aims of the SPAR Slovenija Company, i.e. the stimulation of local economy and continuous investments in the immediate environment.
