Reuse centre

The Reuse Centre, comprising of a shop and a workshop, together with the Collection Centre opened its doors at the Povšetova Ulica 4 in Ljubljana.

Reuse Centre

The key mission of reuse centres is to provide work for persons at a disadvantage (e.g. the elderly and the disabled), while on the other hand they try to encourage the reuse of old, redundant or damaged objects and give joy to new users at the symbolic price. Technical devices, pieces of furniture or clothing – the offer includes practically everything one can find at the flea market and for a fair price – stylish analogue telephone, leather armchair, old radio receiver, etc. The fair will also offer some redefined objects made by dexterous craftsmen – e.g. a slot machine transformed to a shoe rack.

The Reuse Centre in Ljubljana, the eight of its kind in Slovenia, is a member of an international reuse centre network.

It is operated by the Environment Research Centre from Slovenske Konjice and co-funded by European Social Fund and Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, while the Public Company Snaga works on the project as an associated partner.

Collection Centre

The Collection Centre is a covered place, designed and equipped for the separate collection and temporary storage of some waste types. The facility provides several large containers for various waste types.

Citizens can also discard leaves and branches, bulky waste, used electronic parts and devices, hazardous waste, redundant clothing and footwear, furniture wood, tyres, etc. on the new Collection Centre at Povšetova (as well as in Barje and other suburban collection centres). However, this collection centre does not accept asbestos, construction waste or mixed municipal waste.

Reuse Centre and Collection Centre at Povšetova are open every week from Tuesday to Saturday between 11am – 6 pm.
