Ride the new escalators at Plava laguna
Once again, we can ride the escalators that lead to the underpass Plava laguna. They were replaced using a particular procedure, unique for Slovenia.
The replacement of the escalators in the underpass was carried out without interfering with the construction (and thus the ownership) using a completely new procedure called In-Truss. The company Schindler Slovenija d.o.o. performed the works. Ljubljana is the first city in this part of Europe to use such a method of assembling and installing escalators.
On-site »factory«
Compared to the standard installation of escalators, when they are assembled in a factory and delivered to a structure as a whole, this time, the "factory" moved to the site and the escalators were fully assembled in the underpass. This method is used in cases where the replacement of escalators as a whole is not possible without interfering with the statics of the building. Schindler Slovenija d.o.o. is proud that with this project it has supplied the city of Ljubljana with one of their latest products, giving residents and visitors of Plava laguna easier access to the underpass.
The value of the project is 320,000 EUR, excluding VAT.
