Road traffic victims memorial

On 13 November 2013, the Road Traffic Victims Memorial was opened at Žale Cemetery.

Aiming to emphasize the importance of road traffic safety and to prevent further unnecessary suffering, the Varna pot association started a memorial project to commemorate the victims of road accidents.
Thousands of victims, their family members and those responsible for accidents were thus given a place of peace, tranquillity, compassion, remembrance and reminder.
The Road Traffic Victims Memorial, which includes engraved lines of poetry by a renowned Slovene poet and scholar Niko Grafenauer, was designed and built by the acknowledged architect and scholar Marko Mušič.
The initiator and organizer of this project is the Varna pot association, a civil, non-profit, humanitarian and non-political organization, whose members include road traffic victims, their relatives, experts, members and supporters.
