Ruedi baur in ljubljana
Ljubljana is currently hosting the ‘concept’ of visual identity in a public space by designer Ruedi Baur.
At 6pm on Thursday 25 April, an exhibition by Ruedi Baur entitled ‘Public Space’ was opened in the Park of the Slovenian Reformation in central Ljubljana by Deputy Mayor Prof Janez Koželj and Anne Durufle, Director of the Institut Français Charles Nodier. The exhibition remains on show until Saturday 5 May 2013.
The Public Spaces exhibition showcases 13 projects by Ruedi Baur’s Studio Integral. The featured projects include examples of airport marking systems and visual identity, temporary and permanent urban marking systems, urban graphic projects and artistic interventions in the open air and galleries.
In the spirit of temporary marking systems, the exhibition is designed as an urban intervention in the Park of the Slovenian Reformation. The projects are presented on 13 discarded wooden cable reels. The co-operation of the visitor is necessary to obtain a complete viewing of the exhibition, as by moving the drums to view an individual exhibit, they simultaneously change and create an entire layout.
As part of his visit to Ljubljana, French-Swiss designer Prof Dr Ruedi Baur also gave a public lecture on spatial identity and representation of public space and a lecture on identification, orientation and information for a civic city.
