The City of Ljubljana free computer courses
The City of Ljubljana is aware of the importance of computer literacy of the elderly and if therefore preparing free computer courses for seniors for the seventh year in a row. To date, the courses have been attended by more than 8,500 citizens.
During the longer 35-hour beginner course, which runs over 4 weeks, the participants learn how to prepare a short text on a computer, how to use a browser to search for different information and get to know the electronic mail as a modern means of communication. After completing the beginner level, they can upgrade their knowledge at intermediate and advanced courses.
Courses take place in computer classrooms equipped with laptops and projection equipment. In addition to this, each attendant also receives a handbook, especially prepared for the City of Ljubljana course participants. Computer courses are held in small groups of up to 12 participants and take place at the premises of the City of Ljubljana district communities.
