Speaker of the montenegrin parliament in ljubljana
As part of an official visit to the National Assembly of Slovenia, the Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament Ranko Krivokapić and his delegation also met city leaders.
Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković welcomed Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament Ranko Krivokapić to City Hall on Friday 26 November 2010, while he was in Slovenia at the invitation of Speaker of the Slovenian Parliament Pavel Gantar.
Krivokapić has been Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament since July 2003. He has been elected to eight parliamentary sessions, firstly in 1989 to the Parliament of Montenegro; to the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1993-1997, as well as to the Parliament of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro from 2003 - 2006. His political career began in the late 1980’s. He was a member of the Presidency of the Reform Forces of Yugoslavia for Montenegro in 1990. He is President of the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro (SDP), which since 1996 has been a full member of Socialist International (SI). He is also a member of the Presidency of the Party of European Socialists.
