Mayor Zoran Janković presented the memorial decorations of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for selflessness in the fight against COVID-19. They were awarded to the most self-sacrificing individuals and groups who, within the framework of the City of Ljubljana, selflessly helped in the prevention of the spread of the epidemic during the spring period.

The memorial decorations were awarded to the following groups:

The public company Ljubljanski potniški promet, d.o.o., for their quick and efficient response to the need for hot meal delivery. When an appeal for volunteers for hot meals delivery was made (20 were needed), 200 drivers volunteered already on the first day. Every day for over two months, the volunteers selflessly delivered hot meals to children and the elderly from socially disadvantaged families. Over 500 people in need received a hot meal every day, they could even pick the time of delivery.

The public institute Ljubljana Sport for its immediate response to the distress of Serbian citizens who found themselves in Ljubljana during COVID-19, as they were unable to return to their homeland on their way from other European countries. Employees of the public institute Ljubljana Sport pulled resources and selflessly offered the Ježica Hall for temporary accommodation of 215 people. In just two hours, in cooperation with the City of Ljubljana Emergency Management Department, they provided them with food, hot beverages and accommodation, making sure they felt safe until they could go back to their home country.

The public institute Ljubljana Castle for their immediate response during the battle against COVID-19 offering the University Medical Centre Ljubljana healthcare staff accommodation in the Hostel Celica (under their management) so that the employees living in other parts of Slovenia could stay there while public transport was suspended. The Celica staff strived to make sure that the doctors, nurses and other employees of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana who were using their services felt at home as much as possible, making their stay peaceful and comfortable while, of course, implementing all the necessary protective measures. The University Medical Centre Ljubljana also sent a letter of gratitude for the extraordinary gesture.

Memorial decorations for individuals were awarded to Roman Fortuna, head of the City of Ljubljana Municipal Police Department, Bojan Povše, working for the City of Ljubljana as a driver, and Sania Huskić Hočevar, head of the City of Ljubljana Public Relations Office.
