The Chopin Passage at the Congress Square boasts a statue of Chopin, a gift from the Polish Embassy to the City of Ljubljana.
The statue was a gift to the City of Ljubljana in 2010, the year of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, by the then Ambassador of Poland in Slovenia, Piotr Kaszuba. The sculpture is the work of the Polish sculptor, Adam Roman, and its location is the result of good cooperation between the Polish Embassy and the City of Ljubljana.
Poland's composer and pianist Frederic Chopin is one of the most popular and influential pianists and composers of piano music of the 19th century.
The statue of Chopin was unveiled by Mayor Zoran Janković and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Slovenia, Cezary Król, on 11 September 2014.
