Stumbling stones – in remembrance and admonition

On 9 September 2021, we placed seven new stumbling stones in Ljubljana, dedicated to the Jewish citizens of Ljubljana and their relatives, who were taken to various concentration camps across Europe.

This way, we symbolically brought back to Ljubljana seven more Jewish fellow citizens of Ljubljana and Jewish refugees in Ljubljana, who were torn from their homes due to their origin and the Nazi plan and taken to concentration camps across Europe. More than 90 percent of the Slovene Jewish community was destroyed in the Holocaust, and it never recovered afterward.
