Summer concerts

On Thursday evenings all the way to 2 August, music lovers will be able to enjoy summer concerts in the atrium of Ljubljana City Museum.

For the eighth year running, from 5 July to 2 August, you are once again able to feast your ears on ‘Summer concerts in the Ljubljana City Museum atrium’, organised by the im.puls music agency in partnership with the Ljubljana City Museum.

The summer concerts taking place on Thursday evenings in the pleasant ambience of the museum atrium are intended for music lovers and those that would like to listen to something unusual. They will be able to hear selected musicians spanning diverse musical genres.

This year’s series of concerts gets underway on Thursday 5 July with an evening of ‘Slovenian poetry in jazz’ with our First Lady of jazz, Mia Žnidarič.

At the second concert on 12 July, you will be able to hear some genuine curiosities - Dalibor Miklavčič on the pedal harpsichord and the pedal pianoforte and the programme ‘Virtuoso music for harpsichord and pianoforte with pedal keyboards - from Bach to Schumann and the French Romantics’.

On 19 July, there is a performance by our well-known opera singer Mirjam Kalin, accompanied by pianist Igor Vičentič, showcasing their new programme with pieces by Wolf, Mahler, Hubad and Petrić.

At the fourth evening, 26 July, a performance takes place by unconventional and outstandingly creative Italian musician Luca Ciarla and his quartet, which creates a synthesis between jazz, ethno, classical and improvised music.

This year’s summer concerts in the Ljubljana City Museum atrium are rounded off on 2 August by our favourite vocalist Nuška Drašček and pianist Blaž Jurjevčič with a chanson evening.

Admission: €10. Tickets for individual concerts are on sale three days before the concert (Tue, Wed, Thu), at the Ljubljana City Museum sales point between 10am and 6pm.
