Tactile model at the ljubljana castle

A tactile model of the Ljubljana Castle for blind and visually impaired visitors has been placed in the Castle courtyard.

The initiative for constructing a tactile model for blind and visually impaired people was taken by the City of Ljubljana's Department of Health and Social Security. The Department for Culture decided that the most suitable place to locate this type of a model would be the Ljubljana Castle, which receives the greatest number of visitors.

The model is cast in bronze and, in addition to the legend in Latin script intended for the widest range of visitors, also includes a legend in Braille.

The tactile model makes the Ljubljana Castle more sensorially accessible and enables visitors who are blind or visually impaired to become more familiar with the Castle. The project cost approximately 26,000 EUR.
