This year Ljubljana is hosting the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Stožice is hosting some introductory matches, the quarterfinal match and the grand final.

Two matches of the introductory part of the championship are taking place in the Stožice stadium. On Sunday, 28 March, the national teams of Portugal and England are going to compete (at 21:00), and on Wednesday, 31 March, Switzerland and Portugal (at 18:00)

Stožice is also hosting the final matches, the quarterfinal match is taking place on Monday, 31 May, and the final on Sunday, 6 June 2021.

This year's European Championship is hosted by Slovenia and Hungary. In addition to Ljubljana, matches in Slovenia are also taking place in Celje, Maribor and Koper.
