The Ljubljana Festival is celebrating its anniversary

The Ljubljana Festival is celebrating 70 years. As one of the oldest international festivals of this scope, it makes an important contribution to the summer cultural events in Ljubljana every year with its carefully selected and genre-diverse program. This year the festival will take place between 21 June and 8 September.

The highlights of the 70th Ljubljana Festival include the traditional Summer Night, the musical West Side Story, maestro Christopher Eschenbach, the Béjart Ballet, the opera La damnation de Faust under the baton of Charles Dutoit, Edward Clug, conductor Riccardo Muti, mezzo-soprano Elina Garanča, John Malkovich, tenor Plácido Domingo, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Barenboim with piano soloist Lang Lang, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Manfred Honeck with pianist Hélène Grimaud, tenor Juan Diego Flórez, the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra under the tutelage of Alfonso Scarano, violinist Lana Trotovšek and violinist Maksim Risanov with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra led by Vasily Petrenko, soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov, the gala concert of the Slovenian Octet on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its operation, the musical The Waterman, Vlado Kreslin and we could go on. The 70th edition of the summer festival will ceremoniously conclude with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Finnish conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.
