The london visit
On 9 December 2013 the Mayor of the City of Ljubljana Zoran Janković and his delegation attended the official visit to the London where they were accepted by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
The Mayors have met for the first time on this occasion, and Zoran Janković took this opportunity to introduce the City of Ljubljana, namely the projects of Emona 2000, Bicike(lj), The Wheel – 5200 Years and receiving the 2012 European Prize for Urban Public Space for the renovation project of river banks and bridges in Ljubljana. He also presented the traffic arrangements of the municipality, which aim to alter the transportation habits in the city's centre as well as expanding motor vehicles free zones. The Mayor also pointed out the delivery system in the city's centre along with the waste management in the underground collection units.
The Mayor of London was congratulated on successfully organising the Summer Olympics of 2012 and Ljubljana was mentioned as the host of this year's European Basketball Championship. The Mayor, Mr Zoran Jankovič and Deputy Mayor, Mrs Tjaša Ficko have invited the Mayor of London to visit Ljubljana, which will among many other activities host the largest British tourism convention – ABTA.
