The long-serving Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić has died. We express our sincere condolences to the relatives, colleagues and residents of Zagreb, Ljubljana's twin city.

Milan Bandić served as Mayor of Zagreb for many years, during which he successfully cooperated with Mayor Zoran Janković and built excellent relations between the two cities. Ljubljana and Zagreb signed a cooperation agreement in 2001, and since then we have been successfully working together in various fields and exchanging good practices in managing capitals.

Bandić was first elected Mayor of Zagreb in 2000, and in 2017 its residents elected him to the position again for the sixth time.

We express our sincere condolences to the relatives, colleagues, and residents of Zagreb on the passing of the long-serving Mayor.
