"Remains of a City in the summer" exhibition

The Jakopičevo Sprehajališče promenade in the Tivoli Park will host the photography exhibition Remains of a City in the summer, until the 1 September.

The exhibition is part of the Emona 2000 project to commemorate the 2,000 years of the first urban settlement in the area of Ljubljana in collaboration with the Museums and Galleries of Ljubljana and Tourism Ljubljana. Until the 1 September the Jakopičevo Sprehajališče promenade will exhibit the photographs, themed by the remains of ancient civilisations and settlements in two different categories: the curator selection of six authorial photography series and documentary photography, and the winning photographs from the Remains of a City + Photo Emona photo contest.

The exhibition warns us of the necessity and possibility of reflexion and makes us ponder on the inseparable ties with our past. It offers one of the possible views on how we treat the remains of previous civilisations, how we live alongside them and how we can identify with them.
