The Slovenska Cesta's central section between Šubičeva Ulica and Gosposvetska Cesta will be closed for all motor vehicles, except the city public transport and taxi service. Yellow lanes have been delineated on the Celovška and Dunajska Cesta.

The measure was taken in order to restrict the traffic of motor vehicles in the city centre and give priority to public transport, cycling and walking.
Access for local residents, suppliers' vehicles, and access to the central post office and the Slon hotel will be provided.

The yellow lane on the Dunajska Cesta for the city public transport leads from the Bežigrad Stadium to the Slovenska Cesta, and the yellow lane on the Celovška Cesta leads from the Litostrojska Cesta to the Gosposvetska Cesta. Both lanes are directed towards the city centre.

City Public Transport
The city public transport vehicles continue to be active on the Slovenska Cesta and make stops at all previously designated bus stops. The revamp has partially altered the bus lines of 13 and 20 which now contribute to the easier use of the P+R (park and ride) system in Stožice and Fužine.
Alterations to the city and integrated lines of the public transport are applied with the mission of diverting / restricting the traffic of motor vehicles in the city centre and simultaneously enforcing new intermodal transportation options. The bus lines from Ivančna Gorica, Vodice, Dobrova, Polhov Gradec, Iška Vas, Škofljica, Grosuplje and their outskirts are good indicators of such success in planning. The measure of implementing the yellow lane system provides an equal opportunity for fast and effective public transportation.

The Yellow Lane
A bus ride on a yellow lane enables a passenger faster transportation than with a private vehicle in rush hours and more accurate bus arrivals at a destination according to the timetable. The yellow lane sections restrict stopping of the private vehicles on the bus stops which provides the passengers a safe option of boarding and exiting a bus.
