The Volleyball on the Ljubljanica River project received two Sporto awards

The sports spectacle Volleyball on the Ljubljanica River received two prestigious international Sporto awards, namely for the best sports event and the best digital communication.

It is a joint project of Ljubljana Tourism, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia and the Extrem agency, and its success represents an invaluable international promotion for Slovenia, Ljubljana and sports. Ljubljana Tourism received the award for the best digital communication for the video of the spectacle on its TikTok profile.

In less than a day, over seven million people watched the video of the spectacle on the Ljubljanica River on the @visitLjubljana TikTok profile, and in a week, more than 38 million. By the end of last year, the post had over 53 million views, 6.5 million likes, more than 38,000 comments and 157,000 shares. The video was downloaded by 444,000 users. Almost half of the views were from the USA, followed by Germany, Mexico, Brazil and Great Britain. World-renowned sports programming networks, television stations and websites such as ESPN, TSN, Bleacher Report, Whistle and others shared the clip. The official TikTok profile of the Olympics also shared the video.

In the same month, Ljubljana Tourism launched an additional video of the spectacle in response to a follower's comment. The latter became the most viewed clip on the TikTok profile. The post received over 73 million views, 3.2 million likes and over 8,000 comments.

Great promotion

The video is a great promotion for Ljubljana, not only for the capital but also for the country and sports. Its media value is roughly estimated at over 1,000,000 euros. The outstanding numbers prove that a successfully used social network can be a great recipe for strengthening a brand's reputation and international recognition.
