Top 50 Photos

Until 14 September 2014 the Ljubljana Castle will hold the “National Geographic – Top 50 Photos” exhibition which showcases the best photos of all time as selected by the editors of National Geographic.

For 126 years the National Geographic Magazine has been a synonym for best photography of our planet. "Probably, it is not wrong to say that this particular magazine represents a dream of every news report and travel photographer from around the world. This iconic magazine has been publishing the images from the most wild and remote areas from all the continents, from the depths of the sea, the furthest reaches of space, the secrets of animal and plant world, and the latest achievements of human civilization," wrote the internationally renowned Slovenian photographer, photo editor at National Geographic Slovenia and curator of the current exhibition, Arne Hodalič.

And of all these tens of thousands of photos that have accumulated over many years in the archives of the National Geographic Society, the editors selected the top 50 of all time. From the eternal Afghan girl of Steve McCurry, which is a sort of a representative image of this magazine, all the way to Nichols' photos of Jane Goodall with a chimpanzee and the first shots of the sunken Titanic ... All this and much more this summer in the Gallery "S" at the Ljubljana Castle.

Kindly invited every day between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.!
