Ljubljana Tourism, one of the City of Ljubljana's public institutes, has picked up an award entitled Tourism Heart of Gold 2012 for their RDO Central Slovenia project.

The award, which Sacen International presents annually to the most successful in tourism and hospitality in South Eastern Europe, was won by Ljubljana Tourism in the category of 'Times of Golden Hospitality in South Eastern Europe'. The award presentation is to take place on 26 April 2013 in Belgrade; Ljubljana Tourism will take the opportunity that this presents to showcase its activities.

The Tourism Heart of Gold has been awarded by Sacen International (the International Centre for the Advancement of Tourism and Hospitality) for the last 22 years as part of a campaign of “selecting the most successful in tourism and hospitality in South Eastern Europe”. Ljubljana Tourism came out victorious in competition with 13 South Eastern European countries (Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Cyprus, Tunisia, Malta and Greece).
