Two electric trains now running in Ljubljana

The Urban tourist train, which has been running through the city centre for five and a half years already, has been joined by the second train so that they can stop at each station every 45 minutes.

The Urban electric train made its first official run on Wednesday, 25 April 2018, and the second one will join on 7 December 2023. You can ride past the main sights of Ljubljana with both trains. They start their journey on Stritar Street, near the City Hall, then drive to the Ljubljana Castle, continue along the embankments of the Ljubljanica River and return to the starting point on Stritar Street via Trnovski Pristan, through the city centre, past the Opera House, the Modern Gallery and Prešeren Square. You can board the train at different stations and ride the whole circuit or only part of the way. The city's sights are presented by an audio guide available in as many as 14 languages.

Ljubljana on the path to carbon neutrality

Last April, Ljubljana was selected for the Mission of 100 climate-neutral and smart European cities by 2030. As part of this program, we are introducing fully electric vehicles in the city centre, including the new Urban electric train.
