At the beginning of April, the UNIDO 2nd Regional Conference on Industrial and Technology Parks took place in Ljubljana. On that occasion the UNIDO General Director, Li Yong was received by Mayor Zoran Janković on 8 April 2014 in the City Hall.

On 8 and 9 April, Ljubljana hosted the 2nd Regional International Conference on Industrial and Technology Parks organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.

The aim of the conference was to contribute to a better understanding of the role of industrial and technology parks within the areas of economic diversification and job creation in the current global situation. The conference was attended by the state representatives of South-East Europe and Central Asia.

The distinguished guest, UNIDO Director General, Li Yong was received by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Polonca Komar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karl Erjavec and Ljubljana City Mayor, Zoran Janković on Tuesday, 8 April. Later, Li Yong visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia where he met business representatives to discuss the project cooperation with UNIDO in the fields of knowledge, technology transfer and innovations.

After the welcoming reception by Ljubljana City Mayor Zoran Janković at the City Hall, the distinguished guest signed the City of Ljubljana Golden Book. Mayor Zoran Janković and the Director General then took a stroll in the city centre.
