World chess champion at city hall

Mayor Zoran Janković hosted Laura Unuk, who became the world champion in chess at the World Youth Chess Championship, where she competed against girls up to 16 years of age, on 7 November 2014 at the City Hall.

Laura Unuk, a member of the Komenda Chess Club, has received 9 points and reached the first place and the title of the World Chess Champion at the Youth World Championship in Durban, Republic of South Africa, in the group of U16 girls and the competition 84 players from 49 countries.
Laura Unuk was accompanied at the City Hall by fellow successful chess players of the Komenda Chess Club, Vesna Mihelič, Caterina Leonardi and Janez Paternoster.
