World day of remembrance for road traffic victims

On Saturday 19 November 2011, Prešeren Square in Ljubljana played host to the central events surrounding World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Several hundred people gathered to honour the memory of relatives, friends, acquaintances and others who were injured or lost their lives in road traffic accidents. This year alone (from 1 January to 20 November) 127 people have died on Slovenian roads.

The event, which was moderated by Dr Damjana Žišt, ambassador of the Safe Journey Institute, was addressed by Jani Möderndorfer, Deputy Mayor of the City of Ljubljana who expressed his longstanding support for the Safe Journey Institute’s activities.
