Župančič awards 2013

In the Spanish Fighters' Cultural Centre on Tuesday evening, 11 June 2013, Mayor Zoran Janković conferred the Župančič Awards 2013, the highest awards given by the City of Ljubljana for exceptional creative work in the area of arts and culture.

The Župančič Award 2013 for lifetime achievement was given to writer, poet, playwright, translator and editor Evald Flisar.

Župančič Awards 2013 for two year's (2011 – 2013) of creativity were given to:

•stage actor, agent and director Ivan Peternelj,

•puppet artist, actor, animator, permanent member of Ljubljana Puppet Theatre and assistant professor of puppet animation in the Academy of Arts in Osijek Brane Vižintin,

•percussion ensemble Slovenski tolkalni projekt (SToP), comprising Matevž Bajde, Marina Golja, Damir Korošec, Barbara Kresnik, Franci Krevh, Tomaž Lojen, Damir Plamberger and Dejan Tamše.

Prior to the gala award ceremony at the Spanish Fighters' Cultural Centre, Župančič Award winners 2013 met Mayor Zoran Janković and took the opportunity to sign the City of Ljubljana's Memorial Book.

The City of Ljubljana Commission for conferring Župančič Awards comprises Prof Dr Milček Komelj, Assoc Prof Dr Andrej Blatnik, Matevž Čelik, Jurij Meden, Asst Prof Dr Gregor Pompe, Asst Prof Dr Tomaž Toporišič and Vojko Vidmar.
