Rainbow Ljubljana is the seventh booklet in the Ljubljana – A Healthy City (Ljubljana – Zdravo mesto) series. The massive automobilization of the second half of the 20th century has made traffic in the cities into a chronic problem. The traffic issue has started to endanger the “raison d’être” of cities. Together with the expansion and suburbanisation of the cities, forcing the inhabitants of “dispersed cities” to make longer trips to work, study, or for errands, the traffic problems accumulated over decades have become hardly manageable.
Ljubljana is a social city in the broadest sense of the word. It openly welcomes diversity, does not exclude difference and promotes the preservation of social equality and basic human dignity. In this brochure we showcase our measures to promote employment and more work, measures to provide much needed housing, measures to provide various forms of help to those in social distress and measures to promote simple social inclusion for all, regardless of their social status.
