Velo-city 2020 postponement announcement
As our number one priority is to ensure a safe environment for our cycling community, the European Cyclists' Federation ECF and the City of Ljubljana together with the organising partners have decided to postpone the Velo-city 2020 Ljubljana conference.
The event, which was scheduled to take place on 2-5 June 2020, will now be held on 15-18 September 2020 at the same venue in Ljubljana. This new date was chosen carefully to try to avoid overlapping with other topic related fairs and events as much as we could.
As worldwide concern over the coronavirus outbreak is continuing to grow and travel restrictions are put in place in many countries, we need to anticipate this decision as much as possible - your wellbeing is our priority!
We know that this might come as a big disappointment, not only to our speakers and exhibitors who were already busy preparing, but also to our participants, who were all looking forward to meeting their fellow cycling friends and professional partners in June.
But the good news is that we will now be able to gather in warm September in Ljubljana and grasp the opportunity to build an even better programme that will include new insights on how cycling plays a key role in keeping our world safe and healthy - now more than ever. Even more, on 16-22 September 2020, European Mobility Week will take place, which in Ljubljana is always an extraordinary event. There will be much to see and experience. It is a must also because Ljubljana is the only city that won the award for best European Mobility Week twice – for improvements in sustainable mobility in 2003 and 2013, of which cycling is, of course, a crucial part.
Registrations will roll over and remain valid and we are working on the programme to confirm all the speakers and sessions for the new dates.
