    University Botanic Gardens Ljubljana received an international certificate by the Botanic Gardens Conservation International.

  • Unveiling of the Honorary Citizen Janez Stanovnik monument

    In honour of the long-time President of the Union of Associations of War Veterans and Participants in the National Liberation Struggle of Slovenia, partisan and Honorary Citizen of Ljubljana Janez Stanovnik his bust was unveiled in the Valvasor Park near the Tomb of National Heroes.

  • Unveiling of the monument dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of Prekmurje

    In Prekmurje Square, on 17 August 2020, on the holiday marking the unification of Prekmurje with the mother nation, we unveiled the monument dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of Prekmurje and the unification of Prekmurje Slovenians with the mother nation.

  • Updated information board in the phenological park Tivoli

    In Tivoli we set up an updated board of the International Phenological Gardens in Europe with current information on monitoring phenological data in the past years.

  • Upgraded Comprehensive Patient Care (cpc+)

    Partners of the 'Upgraded Comprehensive Patient Care (CPC+)' project signed a partnership agreement on 17 April 2015 in the City Hall. The project is funded under the 2009–2014 Norwegian Financial Mechanism programme and will end on 30 April 2016.

  • Upgrade of RCERO Ljubljana

    The upgrade of the regional waste management centre (RCERO Ljubljana) is the biggest cohesion project in the field of environment in the country.

  • Urban Electric Train

    On Saturday, 26 November 2016, the electric train Urban began its tourist round-trip, connecting all the major attractions of Ljubljana. Until the end of December, the promotional price is valid.

  • Urban Forum

    The Urban Forum "Smart Cities for Sustainable Development of Slovenia and Green Growth" has taken place on 27 March 2015 in Ljubljana. The Forum also featured a panel of mayors on the following topic: Cities for Development of Slovenia, Challenge and Opportunities: Part and Meaning of Cities and Urban Development for Sustainable Development of Slovenia and Adapting to Green Economy.

  • Urban is running again

    After the winter break the electric train Urban is running again on its circular route connecting Ljubljana’s landmarks. Urban connects main city landmarks from the City Hall to the Ljubljana Castle, the Špica waterfront leading to the Botanic Gardens, Trnovo wharf, Plečnik House in Krakovo, the Roman wall, the Križanke open-air theatre, renovated Slovenska Street, Congress Square, the Parliament and Prešeren Street.

    From 347 projects submitted from 36 European countries, the City of Ljubljana's project for the 'Refurbishment of the Banks and the Bridges of the River Ljubljanica' has won the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2012.
