Slovenians brought the world's biggest bee to Dubai
In mid-January, the Central Slovenia Region impressed visitors to the Slovenian pavilion at the World Exhibition EXPO with an innovative and attractive presentation on Europe Square prepared by the Ljubljana Tourism and the Regional Development Agency of Ljubljana UrbanRegion in cooperation with SPIRIT Slovenia and the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association.

World Wetlands Day – for people and for nature
2 February is World Wetlands Day, commemorating the 1971 Wetlands Convention (also known as the Ramsar Convention). This year is the first time it is also held under the auspices of the United Nations.

Bigbelly also in Ljubljana
We have installed sets of Bigbelly smart waste bins at the Ljubljana Castle, along the Koseze Pond and in the Slovenian Reformation Park, consisting of a container for packaging and one for other waste.

The RUTA theatre festival is coming to Ljubljana
From 9 to 14 February 2022, the Ljubljana City Theatre is hosting the international theatre festival RUTA Grupa Triglav 2022, at which city theaters from the former Yugoslavia are presenting themselves.

Cultural holiday in Ljubljana
Again this year, Ljubljana celebrates 8 February, the Slovenian Cultural Holiday. Public institutions and many non-governmental organizations in the field of culture have prepared a diverse program to this end. In the City of Ljubljana, we also invest heavily in culture and art, as we are aware that culture is an investment and not an expense because it significantly enriches life in our city.
