The march – living cultural heritage
On 3 May 2016, the Ministry of Culture entered a new item in the register of living cultural heritage – the March along the Barbed Wire. The entry coincides with this year’s 60th anniversary March which additionally accentuates the significance of this event for Ljubljana, this year’s European Green Capital, as well as for its residents.

Free rides with Urban
On 1 May 2016, the electric train Urban started its trial period. The test rides from Stritar Street to the Ljubljana Castle are offered free-of-charge, presumably till end May.

May, the Month of Green Areas
Ljubljana, the European Green Capital, has entered its fifth green month, dedicated to green areas. Within this project, European Green Week will start at the end of May.

Bring happiness to work
In Ljubljana, we joined the national initiative to promote cycling to work entitled Bring happiness to work where teams of three as well as individuals record days they come to work by bikes.

President of the IRE in the City Hall
The Mayor Zoran Janković held a reception in the city hall for the President of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) dr. Franz Schausberger on 25 April 2016.

Castle Vineyard
On 23 April 2016, the last five plants of the red Rotburger variety have been planted on the south slopes of the Ljubljana castle hill, which gives the vineyard its final image.

EU project, my project 2016
Within the framework of the action EU project, my project 2016, there will be open days on 10 and 11 June 2016 for some projects, which were financed by the European funds. Among the proposals are also RCERO Ljubljana and P+R Barje.

The website Business Insider placed Ljubljana on the list of 30 locations worth visiting in the coming summer.

Prize for Turism in Lubljana
European Commission awarded Ljubljana an important environmental prize, which only confirms the right direction into development of sustainable tourism.

Zero Waste Europe Meeting
From 21 till 22 April 2016, Ljubljana is hosting the Zero Waste Europe and Zero Waste Cities meeting. The key topic of the meeting is preventing waste production.
