Ljubljana joined the international awareness campaign WeThe15, which draws attention to discrimination against people with disabilities around the world with the desire for greater visibility and inclusion in society, so on Thursday, 19 August 2021, we lit up the Ljubljana Castle in purple.

Winning architectural solution for the city cinema miniplex
In cooperation with the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia we have concluded the project competition for the selection of the professionally most appropriate solution for the city cinema miniplex with five auditoriums which is going to be set up in the centre of Ljubljana in the Ajdovščina underpass.

In a public architectural competition we have chosen the most appropriate architectural solution for a new residential neighbourhood at the crossroads of Litijska cesta and Pesarska cesta where the construction of non-profit apartments is planned.

In the Švicarija Creative Centre, on 12 June 2018, we presented the Župančič Awards 2018, the highest recognitions of the City of Ljubljana for outstanding creations in the field of art and culture, which are lastingly enriching the cultural treasure chest of the Slovenian capital and are resounding even in the wider national and international area with their excellence.

The Marjan Rožanc Awards, the highest recognitions of the City of Ljubljana in sports, were given this year to Luka Dončić, Žan Kranjec, Tatjana Polajnar and Lojze Pungerčič.

From the start of February, the Slovenian capital offers its residents and visitors 60 minutes of free internet access. The free access is currently available in the city centre, while in the coming months it will be broadened to cover the greater Ljubljana area.
