International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
For years the City of Ljubljana has been paying particular attention to the issue of violence against women and has been actively cooperating with nongovernmental organisations in the field.

Record tourist year
In October already over million overnight stays were recorded in Ljubljana. The estimate for all accommodation facilities in Ljubljana for the ten months is 1,057,713 overnight stays, which is 19% more than in the same period last year.

Meeting of Rainbow Cities in Geneva
On 19 and 20 November 2015, the third meeting of representatives of the Rainbow Cities Network was held in Geneva, of which the City of Ljubljana is also a member.

Public orchard of the City of Ljubljana
The City of Ljubljana set up a public orchard on plots alongside the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship at Grba open to all residents and visitors to our city, where fruit will be available from midsummer to late autumn.

European Day for Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse
On Slovenia’s initiative the Council of Europe has declared 18 November as the European Day for Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. The City of Ljubljana will also mark the day in cooperation with the Association against Sexual Abuse.

Commemorative coin to mark the 2000th anniversary of Emona
To mark the 2000th anniversary of the first urban settlement in the area of today’s Ljubljana – the Roman Emona – the Bank of Slovenia issued a commemorative coin.

For the fourth consecutive year the City of Ljubljana has been awarded the title Planet Earth-Friendly Municipality.

Eurocities Annual General Meeting
On 4 and 5 November 2015, Mayor Zoran Janković and Deputy Mayor Tjaša Ficko attended the Eurocities Annual General Meeting which was this year hosted by two cities, Malmö in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark.
