Autism awareness
On 2 April, the World Autism Awareness Day, Ljubljana joined the Light It Up Blue international initiative. The Ljubljana Castle and the Triple Bridge (Tromostovje) were illuminated in blue from midnight to 7 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight that day.

Ljubljana – 2016 european green capital finalist
The City of Ljubljana has been selected a finalist for the title of 2016 European Green Capital. This is a second consecutive qualification into the final for the City of Ljubljana.

The summer cavaliers are back in town
Two open (summer) Kavalirs, the electric transport vehicles, have started operating on Saturday, 29 March 2014 in the city's centre and the area restricted for motor traffic. The closed Kavalir will continue its regular route. The rides are free of charge.

140th birth anniversary of general rudolf maister
The City Hall is hosting an exhibition on general Maister and the fighters for the Slovenian northern border upon the 140th birth anniversary of the general. The City of Ljubljana has honoured the anniversary by laying wreaths before the both monuments of general Maister at the Trg Osvobodilne Fronte (Trg OF) and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic Slovenia building.

Earth hour
The City of Ljubljana has once again this year participated alongside some of the public institutions and companies in the international environmental initiative Earth Hour.

Emw award 2013
The City of Ljubljana was awarded the European Mobility Week Award for 2013 in Brussels on 24 March 2014. Ljubljana participated along 30 cities from 12 countries and it is the only city to win the award two times.

Renovation of trg republike square
Preparatory works for the complete renovation of Trg Republike square in the centre of Ljubljana are underway. The renovation is foreseen to be finished by the end of September.
