EU project, my project 2016
Within the framework of the action EU project, my project 2016, there will be open days on 10 and 11 June 2016 for some projects, which were financed by the European funds. Among the proposals are also RCERO Ljubljana and P+R Barje.

EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2018 for Plečnik House
The winners of the 2018 EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s top honour in the field, were announced today by the European Commission and Europa Nostra, the leading European heritage network. The 29 laureates from 17 countries have been recognised for their impressive accomplishments in conservation, research, dedicated service, and education, training and awareness-raising. Among this year’s winners is the Plečnik House.

EU member state flags at Šubič Street
In the City of Ljubljana, we are proud that Ljubljana is the capital of an independent and sovereign state and that we are included in the community of 27 countries of the European Union. As Slovenia is holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of this year, we have decided to express our affiliation with the EU also by temporarily erecting poles for the flags of all members.

Eu civitas mobilis project participant consultation
A consultation took place in City Hall on 14 February 2008 in the framework of the EU CIVITAS MOBILIS project (6th framework programme), that is aimed at sustainable mobility in towns. Mayor Zoran Janković also greeted participants.

At the competition EPSA 2021 (European Public Sector Awards), which aims to promote innovative, digital and green public administration, three projects of the City of Ljubljana received awards.

Environment-friendly bags in the City of Ljubljana
December last year, within the framework of the title Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016, the City of Ljubljana introduced the campaign »I’m not lasting, but therefore less annoying« to promote the use of environment-friendly bags.

Environmentally-friendly vehicles
The new, environmentally-friendly Ljubljana Public Transport methane-fuelled buses and eco-vehicles of Javni Holding Ljubljana and City of Ljubljana public companies were presented at Congress Square on 17 September 2014 within the European Mobility Week.

Entry into buses again at the front door
From Thursday, 18 June 2020, passengers can enter the Ljubljana city buses only at the front door again.

Entering into spring with over 120 new trees
We are planting several trees at various locations in Ljubljana this month, and in the days around the International Women's Day we also received messages from citizens thanking us for "the most beautiful gift for 8 March".
