17 may – international day against homophobia and transphobia
17 May is marked the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. On this day, in 1990, the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. The City Hall hangs a rainbow flag, the symbol of the LGBT community, on this day.

15 years of Ljubljana Tourism
On 4 April 2016, the public institution Ljubljana Tourism celebrated its 15th anniversary. On the occasion the interactive installation WOW was set up in front of the Slovenian Tourist Information Centre at the Krek Square 10 which was used at EXPO 2015 in Milano as an invitation to visit the European Green Capital 2016.

14th Slovenian Conference of Plant Protection successful
Research work at the Department of agronomy within project APPLAUSE has been focused on testing the efficacy of water extracts from invasive plant species (Japanese knotweed, Bohemian knotweed, Canada goldenrod, giant goldenrod, false indigo, tree of heaven and staghorn sumac) on insect pests.
