New EU funds for Ljubljana
As part of the Pilot Cities program, the City of Ljubljana was selected to test and implement innovative approaches for the decarbonization of the city, within the scope of which we will focus on the use of excess heat in high-temperature systems (industry, transformers, data centres, sewerage, etc.).

We donated two buses to Ukraine
Deputy Director of the Public Company Ljubljanski potniški promet d.o.o. (JP LPP), Rok Vihar, and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, handed over two buses to the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, Andriy Taran, donated to Ukraine as part of the European Union's solidarity campaign.

Ljubljana received two gold awards for excellence in tourism promotion
At the international competition and festival The Golden City Gate, which rewards the excellence of promotional and communication campaigns and innovative multimedia tools in tourism, we received two gold awards for the short film Plečnik's Ljubljana and the sports video Extreme Ljubljana.

What memorial will be erected in the Park of the Erased
The former courtyard of the Rog factory on Trubar Street will be converted into a new public park alongside the renovation of the Rog Centre, which, at the initiative of the proponents, Amnesty International Slovenia and the Civil Initiative of Erased Activists, has been named Park of the Erased, and a memorial will also be erected there.

The sports spectacle Volleyball on the Ljubljanica River received two prestigious international Sporto awards, namely for the best sports event and the best digital communication.

Prof. Janez Koželj: If the city is beautiful, life too is more beautiful
At the beginning of this year, after 16 years, Deputy Mayor Prof. Janez Koželj handed over his duties to his successor, Ass. Prof. Rok Žnidaršič.
On this occasion, we published an interview in the magazine Ljubljana in which Prof. Koželj said that he is leaving with some bitterness, mainly because of the criticism he received from some professional circles, but that he is also proud that the city has fundamentally changed during his mandate, it has been reinvigorated and became what it is today: a lively, attractive capital, which is nice to live in or visit. Intersectoral integration for a more efficient green transition
On Monday, 13 February 2023, we signed an umbrella agreement with the public company Energetika Ljubljana and the company ELES on cooperation in the field of connecting the heating and cooling sectors with the electricity sector. With the agreement, we undertake to prepare a joint strategy that will contribute to the green transition at the level of local communities.

Deputy Mayor Rok Žnidaršič among this year's recipients of the Prešeren Awards
Deputy Mayor Rok Žnidaršič, together with his studio Medprostor, received the Prešeren Fund Award 2023 for achievements in the past three years for the Hribljane wooden house, Šentvid sports hall and the design of the Žička Kartuzija complex.
