On the basis of an inspection and assessment of the state the vehicle is in, determining that it can safely operate for at least another 5 more years, the public passenger transport company Ljubljanski potniški promet can decide to do a general restoration. From those vehicles deemed no longer suitable for passenger transport all useful parts are removed (such as engines, transmission gears, joints and alternators), restored and stored for later installation into a vehicle needing such a replacement part. By doing so the company is extending the operating period of vehicles in use and at the same time saving on raw materials.
