Record number of visits to Kinodvor
The number of visitors to Kinodvor, public institute under the City of Ljubljana, has been on the increase ever since 2008; and in the past year with 2123 public screenings in the film theatre and at mobile cinema locations in Ljubljana it recorded as many as 128,973 viewers.

Ljubhospice House
On 14 February 2016, the Ljubhospice House opened its doors in Ljubljana, a hospice providing free-of-charge comprehensive palliative care to the seriously ill.

Athena Project – the power of social media in crisis
On 27 January 2016, the second testing of the mobile phone application and emergency services headquarters application was conducted in Ljubljana within the framework of the Athena research project, namely, the participating partners – among them the City of Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Fire Brigade – are exploring the use of social networks in cases of natural and other disasters to facilitate cooperation between emergency services and residents.

Ljubljana received the title European Green Capital
On 9 February in Brussels, Ljubljana officially received the title European Green Capital 2016.
