Influencing climate change in Ljubljana
In the City of Ljubljana, we have outlined the sustainable development with numerous measures and ambitious environmental politics, based on which we won the prestigious title - the European Green Capital 2016. As environmental experts emphasise, this is the path which all cities on our planet must take, since only one city or even a country the size of Slovenia cannot prevent global warming.

Automated speed measuring devices for traffic safety
We are expending the traffic speed monitoring system in Ljubljana with two new housings which are going to alternately hold two automated speed measuring devices already used at existing locations.

Ljubljana wins two first awards at the international competition Emerging Europe Awards
We received several recognitions at the award ceremony of the international competition Emerging Europe Awards 2019 in London. For the LGBT certificate we received the first award for the best equality-friendly initiative; in the category business-friendly cities we are sharing the first place with Prague in the quality of life subcategory.

New gender equality action plan adopted
At the June meeting the City Council of the City of Ljubljana adopted the Gender Equality Action Plan in the City of Ljubljana for the period from 2019 to 2022. The document represents a continuation of our endeavours towards an inclusive society for all genders.

This summer the Vatican Museums are hosting an exhibition of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana Plečnik and the Sacred presenting 33 select liturgical vessels designed by Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.
