The Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association awarded us with the golden recognition and the title Most Bee-friendly Municipality in 2019.

Already 40 recipients of the LGBT-Friendly Certificate
On 12 December, LGBT-Friendly Certificates were presented at the City Hall. They were awarded to the Ljubljana City Library, the City Association of Retirees Ljubljana, the Slovenian Red Cross, Ljubljana District, and the Health Centre Zdravje.

Opening of a new modern animal shelter
We have opened new premises of the Ljubljana Animal Shelter with modern housing for dogs, new administration offices with a lecture room, space for volunteers and a service area. The investment is valued at 6.7 million euro, VAT included.

New trees planted in Park Tivoli
We planted over 30 new trees in Park Tivoli replacing the trees we had to remove because they were damaged, diseased (infested with a fungus) or were endangering park visitors.

Opening of the energy renovated Vodmat Primary School
On Thursday, 5 December 2019, the Vodmat Primary School opened after its static and energy renovation which was carried out within the framework of the public-private partnership with the consortium of companies Petrol d.d., Resalta d.o.o. and Javna razsvetljava d.d..

Promoting walking and cycling on newly renovated streets or roads
In line with EU stipulations renovation notifications have to be set up for at least five years on renovated roads and streets to promote walking and cycling.

December 2019 in Ljubljana
The most festive month of the year is here. December events have started on Friday, 29 November, with the turning-on of the festive lights and the opening of the holiday fair. A varied programme in the beautifully decorated old city centre is going to bring joy to us all the way to 5 January 2020.
