Earth Hour 2018
Again this year, Ljubljana joined the international environmental initiative Earth Hour, and so we turned off the exterior lighting on some buildings for an hour on Saturday, 24 March 2018.

On Saturday, 25 March 2017, the City of Ljubljana with its public institutes and companies turned off the exterior lighting on some of its buildings and by doing so joined the international environmental initiative Earth Hour.

Dublin declaration 2013
An EU Summit on Active and Healthy Ageing was held in Dublin on 13 and 14 June 2013 as part of the current Irish EU Presidency, in which representatives from the City of Ljubljana’s Health and Social Care Department also participated.

The first international conference on ‘Age-Friendly Cities’ took place in Dublin from 28 to 30 September 2011, and was attended by Ljubljana city councillor Prof Dr Miro Gorenšek.

Drinking fountains in Ljubljana are opening
This weekend we have opened first four drinking fountains, namely, at Cankar Peek (at Rožnik Inn), at Golovec Hill (at the turn for the observatory), at Stritar Street (at the City Hall) and at the Old Square (at the Romeo restaurant).
