On the invitation of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Ljubljana joined the Circular Cities Network aimed at the exchange of good practices through a special web platform which can serve the cities as an inspiration for innovation in the field of the »zero waste« and circular economy.

Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree made of invasive plant species
In the scope of the project APPLAUSE we made a Christmas tree out of invasive plant species and then decorated it with decorations painted with natural dyes, also acquired from invasive plants.

Choosing the Tree and the Tree-lined Street of the Year 2024
In recent years, Ljubljana has selected already four trees of the year and one tree-lined street of the year as part of our efforts to care for the city's trees. This year, we will expand the campaign and select both the Tree of the Year and the Tree-lined Street of the Year 2024. Once again, we invite the citizens of Ljubljana to let us know which tree and tree-lined street they think deserves the title.

Children welcome to the renovated playground in Park Tivoli
We have comprehensively renovated the children's playground in Park Tivoli, which is located in the middle of the Tivoli, Rožnik and Šiška Hill Landscape Park. We have installed thoughtfully selected, modern and high-quality playground equipment, with which we can ensure even more fun, but at the same time, safety for children playing.

Challenges of intercultural coexistence
The atrium of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU) hosted the interdepartmental discussion “Challenges of Intercultural Coexistence – Integration of Immigrants and Their Families in Slovenia” (Izzivi Medkulturnega Sobivanja – Vključevanje Priseljencev in Njihovih Družin v Sloveniji).
