Finding refreshment in the city
Even in Ljubljana, the effects of heat can be alleviated on hot summer days. Visit one of the children's playgrounds, which are shaded by trees, quench your thirst at the drinking fountains, and you can also find refreshment right in the middle of Prešeren Square.

The fleet of the Ljubljana passenger transport company LPP is enriched by five new, environmentally friendly intercity buses. They are all low-floor buses and thus adapted for the transport of persons with various forms of disabilities.

The 29th Velo-city 2022 cycling conference concluded in Ljubljana on Friday, 17 June 2022. The flag of the conference was passed on to the next host, the city of Leipzig.

Velo-city 2022 Ljubljana: political courage for ground-breaking decisions
The second day of the world cycling conference Velo-city began with a plenary session Political Courage for Breakthrough Decisions, where Mayor Zoran Janković, together with the mayors of Banja Luka, Novi Sad, Sarajevo and Dubrovnik, discussed the challenges of promoting cycling in cities, where residents are traditionally focused primarily on car use.

Ljubljana, signatory of a transnational commitment to promoting cycling
On Sunday, 12 June 2022, we signed a transnational commitment to promoting cycling as part of the Vienna Declaration and received cyclists who came on bikes from Vienna to the world's largest cycling conference Velo-city 2022.

Two new BicikeLJ stations
Cycling in Ljubljana is also encouraged by expanding the network of the BicikeLJ bicycle rental system. We opened two new stations on Verovškova ulica, in front of the entrance to the Lek administrative building, and on Vodovodna cesta.

Encouraging cycling with various measures
Ljubljana continues to develop and improve the cycling infrastructure. We have designed new cycling surfaces on several roads and streets and plan to open the first covered bicycle storage.
