Ljubljana sends help to flooded areas
The City of Ljubljana promptly responded to the catastrophic floods which had hit Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia in May. In the scope of the City of Ljubljana action we raised the aid in the amount of over 200,000 € for the flood-stricken areas.

“flame of peace” marathon
Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the runners of the “Flame of Peace” marathon at the City Hall on 18 August. The marathon commemorates the start of WW1 on 28 July in Sarajevo and concludes in Aachen (West Germany) on 21 September.

Funicular gets its two millionth passenger
The rail funicular to the Ljubljana Castle was visited by its two millionth passenger on Friday, 15 August, 2014. The passenger was a seven-year-old Tinka Ivartnik from Kotlje in Koroška.

New bike box on miklošičeva street
Ljubljana has received a new bike box within the bicycle lane on the Miklošičeva Street in both directions to give priority to cyclists and enable them to arrange prior to the motor vehicles.

Exhibition of “top 50 photos"
The Ljubljana Castle hosts the “National Geographic – Top 50 Photos” exhibition of all time as selected by the editors of National Geographic until 14 September 2014. On 29 August and 1 September the tour of the exhibition will be guided by the internationally renowned photographer and the exhibition curator, Arne Hodalić.
